GOTS certification guarantees the consumer an ecological product.
Products bearing the GOTS mark are produced to a number of high environmental standards throughout the production chain, from the raw materials to the packaging.
GOTS is your assurance that the product has been produced under good working conditions in the factories.
Before a product can be certified, it must meet a series of environmental requirements, including:
All chemicals (such as dyes) have to be assessed and must meet toxicity and biodegradability requirements. |

Ingredients such as toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde and aromatic solvents are prohibited. |
|
Bleaching agents must be oxygen-based (no chlorine-based bleach). |
|
All producers must have an environmental policy to minimise waste and emissions. |
|
Packaging must not contain PVC. |
The standardThe aim of GOTS (the Global Organic Textile Standard) is to define a number of global requirements for the production of ecological fabrics that provide security and transparency to you and your family. Only products that contain a minimum of 70% organic fibres can achieve GOTS certification. |
GOTS lays down the following requirements for social responsibility based on standards from the International Labour Organization (ILO):
Prohibition of child labour. |
